Handle installation method is traditional meaning that stuck tools such as flatters, top swages, top fullers, and cutters, may not be as tight as hammer handles. An article on this can be found here. Also please keep in mind that wood handles do shrink and swell with the amount of humidity in the air. Handles that were tight in the summer may be loose in the winter
