Fly Presses are new on the North American market but have been popular tools in Europe and Asia for over a century. Fly presses are a highly efficient press used in both production and custom work. They produce tremendous force that is accurate, precise and easy to control.

Fly presses are used for blanking and punch press work with similar die sets and tooling as used in OBI presses. They are also used with forming, bending and forging tools. Hot forging, fullering, punching, shearing and slitting operations can be performed with simple easy to make tooling.

Four Start Screw: These presses have what is known as a "fast" thread for forging. Instead of one thread, four are cut on the screw increasing the lead angle so that the ram moves quickly. This makes these presses different than fly presses designed for high pressure coining operations where the stroke is very short. The larger presses have three start screws to keep the geometry correct with the larger diameter screw.

Fly presses do not replace a power hammer but they easily replace the need for a striker in many situations and do so with much better control. They fill a nitch in between a power hammer and a treadle hammer giving the power and alignment of a machine while being controlled by hand.

Quality Control: We order only top (US import) quality presses. Then each machine is uncrated, assembled, inspected and tested to be sure it is in good working order prior to leaving our shop.

Shipping Costs can be a considerable amount on machinery. Due to the size and weight of these machines they must all be shipped by common carrier. We will gladly give you a quote including shipping. Compare the total price before ordering!

You are welcome to come to our shop and take delivery in your truck. These machines will all fit in a small pick-up truck. See "About Us" for a map to our shop.
